Gravity, a leading provider of disclosure and budgeting automation for the North American public sector, has announced the acquisition of Cityspan, a specialist in cloud-based grants management and performance measurement systems.
Gravity aims to significantly expand its product portfolio by incorporating Cityspan’s comprehensive grants lifecycle management capabilities into its existing disclosure, budgeting, and community engagement solutions. This strategic move advances Gravity’s vision of creating a unified platform for all government financial operations. Cityspan’s technology is designed to support various aspects of grants management for both grantors and grantees, facilitating applications, contracting, performance tracking, and outcome reporting.
The integration of Cityspan’s extensible architecture into the Gravity tech stack is scheduled for mid-2026. This integration will extend across Gravity’s entire financial suite and is expected to enhance the company’s forthcoming lease management and debt management solutions, offering a more complete financial management ecosystem.
Tyler Davey, CEO of Gravity, commented on the acquisition, stating, “This acquisition represents a major step forward in our mission to provide governments with a comprehensive, connected financial management platform. Cityspan brings proven grants management technology that serves some of the nation’s largest public agencies. By integrating their capabilities into our platform, we’re enabling governments to manage the entire financial lifecycle – from grants and budgets to disclosures and community engagement – all in one place. We’re excited to welcome the Cityspan team to Gravity and to continue investing in their success.”For customers, the combined offerings will provide a single system to manage every aspect of the financial lifecycle. This is intended to simplify compliance, improve audit readiness, reduce staff time, and enhance transparency with the communities served. Governments utilizing Gravity will now be able to manage grants alongside their reporting and budgeting workflows, with future enhancements supporting asset, lease, and debt management.
Mark Min, CEO of Cityspan, highlighted the importance of data-driven transparency, saying, “Integrating Cityspan’s trusted grants and performance management technology with Gravity’s innovative platform extends our shared commitment to open, accountable government. Together, we’re empowering public agencies to turn data into impact, ensuring every program, budget, and report reflects the real needs of the communities they serve.”The Cityspan team will transition to Gravity, contributing their expertise in grants management and performance measurement to accelerate the growth and innovation of the combined platform. This acquisition follows Gravity’s recent integration of coUrbanize, a community engagement platform, and the launch of its next-generation products, Gravity Disclosure Studio and Gravity Engagement Studio, both powered by Gravity AI.
These strategic developments collectively advance Gravity’s mission to redefine government financial management by connecting money management, outcome measurement, and community communication. By consolidating Cityspan’s grants and performance management capabilities and coUrbanize’s community engagement tools with its AI-powered disclosure and budgeting suite, Gravity aims to establish the first truly connected financial management ecosystem for the public sector. Gravity currently serves nearly 300 customers across over 40 states.
