Flutterwave, a business payments fintech, announced a reorganization of its risk management, compliance, regulatory, and legal leadership team on September 23, 2025, appointing Prashant Kalia as its new Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.

Kalia brings over two decades of experience in risk and compliance leadership, having previously held positions at Circle, Stripe, Amazon, and American Express. His appointment is a key part of the company’s planned succession strategy for its leadership team.

Mobolaji Bammeke, who has served as Flutterwave’s Chief Compliance Officer since November 2019, will transition to the role of Chief Regulatory and Data Protection Officer. This move is intended to enable Bammeke to broaden his focus on navigating regulatory environments and ensuring data privacy compliance across all of Flutterwave’s operating markets.

Amaresh Mohan, the outgoing Chief Risk Officer, who was instrumental in establishing Flutterwave’s risk function, will remain with the company as a strategic advisor to Kalia and CEO Olugbenga Agboola to ensure a seamless transition.

Additionally, Oluwabankole Falade, who has served as Chief Regulatory and Public Policy Officer since June 2021 and recently took on the role of Chief Legal Officer, has been named Chief Legal, Regulatory, and Public Policy Officer.

Olugbenga Agboola, who founded Flutterwave in 2016, stated that these leadership changes demonstrate the company’s proactive approach to risk management, compliance, regulatory, and legal affairs. He noted that the changes aim to leverage the combined expertise of the team to support the company’s global scaling operations.

Flutterwave currently operates in 33 markets across Africa. The company provides payment infrastructure that enables bank and business partners to offer a suite of payment services, including online checkout, cross-border transactions, collections, and processing.
