Farmers Business Network (FBN) has announced new investments and platform expansions, backed by $50 million in new funding to advance its product lines and AI deployment. This capital infusion supports FBN’s goal of enhancing the prosperity of family farms.
Key investors in FBN include GV (Google Ventures), Temasek, Arteqin, Colle Capital, and T Rowe Price. The company leverages its digital platform to streamline the agricultural supply chain for goods, financing, and services, while aiming to become a trusted AI partner for farmers. FBN’s network has grown to encompass over 117,000 farms, representing 187 million acres across the U.S. and Canada. Its e-commerce platform features more than 7,200 products for crops and livestock, with most direct-to-farm deliveries completed within 24 to 72 hours. According to recent farmer surveys by Stratus Ag Research, 35% of farmers consulted FBN when shopping for inputs, and online input purchases by farmers increased 86% compared to 2023. In 2025, FBN saw a record number of returning farmers for input purchases, reflecting a producer focus on profitability. FBN’s Finance platform has provided nearly $3 billion in total financing to growers.
Diego Casanello, CEO of FBN, stated, “Our commitment to putting farmers first means a relentless focus on efficiency and convenience. Our goal is to reduce a farm’s operating costs 20% or more compared to brick-and-mortar retail. We’re working to maximize grower savings and ensure every dollar they spend goes as far as possible.” To better serve its members and prepare for future growth, FBN is intensifying its focus on core digital strengths. This strategic evolution has involved difficult decisions to align the workforce with strategic priorities, positioning FBN for sustainable value delivery through innovation.
FBN is increasing its strategic investment in advanced AI development. Casanello noted, “Artificial Intelligence is enabling us to provide our farmer members with more personalized and relevant insights. Simultaneously, it offers new tools to automate our marketplace operations, reducing costs and improving the customer experience.” FBN previously launched “Norm,” the first Large Language Model (LLM) designed to answer farmer agronomy questions. The model has since been trained to assist farmers with crop marketing inquiries, with future versions expected to offer personalized agronomy, finance, and risk management support. The company is also broadening its marketplace offerings while striving to maintain the fast and convenient service farmers expect.
FBN has significantly expanded its private label product portfolio in 2025 and opened its platform to third-party sellers, enabling them to offer their brands directly to FBN members through a suite of seller tools and commercial services. The expanded product portfolio features include:
* **More Private Label and Third-party Crop Protection Products:** FBN is enhancing its crop protection, biological, and nutrition offerings for major commodity crops such as corn, canola, cotton, soybeans, alfalfa, and wheat. This expansion creates an extensive portfolio under its Willowood USA® and Farmers First® brands, alongside an increased presence of third-party sellers.
* **Canadian Growth:** FBN Canada has expanded its wheat crop protection portfolio, introduced bulk liquid fertilizer, and launched equipment financing. The company plans to open two new distribution centers in Canada in 2026.
* **New Seed Platform:** FBN is opening its marketplace for third-party seed offers, including leading brands like Seitec Genetics®, with products for corn, soybean, sorghum, alfalfa, and cover crops.
* **Expanding Livestock:** FBN’s livestock marketplace continues its rapid expansion with new products such as feed from Ridley® & Sweetlix®, fencing, and a growing assortment of general farm and ranch supplies.
