Expensify, a payments superapp, has introduced significant updates to its Expensify Travel platform, including central billing, event management, and improved employee itineraries, aimed at streamlining corporate travel planning and reducing related costs. The company, which serves 15 million individuals and businesses globally in managing expenses, corporate cards, and travel, has designed these enhancements to simplify the complexities of business travel.

The latest updates to Expensify Travel include a central billing feature, allowing all travel expenses to be paid via a central company card, or configured with specific cards per team. Users can select which categories, such as flights, hotels, cars, or rail, are covered by the card. This system automates expense categorization and reconciliation, offers strict control to mitigate fraud risk, and provides real-time visibility into bookings and expenses. It is also designed to minimize missing receipts and manual follow-ups.

Another key enhancement is event management, which enables the sharing of custom travel booking links for corporate events like offsites and conferences. The platform tracks RSVPs directly from the Expensify Travel dashboard and automates attendee booking within the established travel policy. Rules can be set and updated for individuals or groups, and templates are available for recurring events, such as candidate visits. Group travel expenses can also be centrally tracked and billed.

Employee itineraries have been improved to automatically group bookings by trip within the Expensify app. This feature allows administrators to book on behalf of others, with automated expense routing. Flight, hotel, rail, and rental car details are displayed in a single, consolidated view.
