Alan, a global digital healthcare partner, has officially launched in Quebec as a licensed carrier in Canada, introducing a French-first digital platform designed to streamline healthcare for local businesses and their employees. The expansion positions Alan to offer a new approach to health benefits within one of Canada’s most complex and regulated markets. \n\nFrom its inception in Quebec, Alan’s platform provides members with French-first onboarding and support, digital claims submissions, clear reimbursement details, and coverage tailored to local needs. For employers, the platform aims to reduce administrative burdens by centralizing plan management in an intuitive digital interface. \n\nOdile Kusnik, head of insurance at Alan Canada, emphasized the localized development process. “Launching Alan in Quebec required building our insurance offering specifically for the province,” Kusnik stated. “We didn’t just translate our product. We built a Quebec-first health insurance solution from the ground up, working with local partners to navigate the specific needs and regulations of the province’s healthcare system. This means our members get a product that is fully compliant and tailored to their community from day one.”\n\nAlan, founded in 2016, aims to redefine traditional insurance through a preventative health approach, focusing on employee well-being and productivity. Its entry into Quebec leverages its status as a licensed insurer in Canada, addressing a market that Alan identifies as having seen limited innovation over several decades. \n\nMark Goad, general manager at Alan Canada, commented on the market opportunity. “This is the first of many important steps in our journey to offer Canadian employers and their teams a much-needed alternative in a market that has seen little change in decades,” Goad said. He added that the launch provides employers with an insurance solution built for Quebec’s market realities and offers employees clearer, easier access to their benefits by departing from outdated, complicated systems. \n\nAlan currently supports Canadian employers, including organizations with up to 500 employees, and this Quebec launch is expected to further establish its presence and facilitate continued growth in the country.
