Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT), an AI-driven blockchain and data monetization company based in Beaverton, Oregon, has announced the acquisition of intellectual property assets from Web Access, LLC. This acquisition occurred concurrently with the passage of the Genius Act into law, a legislative development Datavault AI believes will enhance the commercial potential of its patented technologies.

Nathaniel T. Bradley, CEO of Datavault AI, stated, “We’re thrilled at the passage of Genius Act into law. It validates our business plan, our proprietary technologies, and the strategic foresight that has positioned Datavault AI as a category leader.” He added, “Our Data Vault platform is uniquely built to serve the growing demand for tokenomic solutions across multiple industries. With scalability and market readiness, we offer a seamless path to adopt next-generation monetization models. This acquisition further strengthens our IP portfolio with exclusive sonic tone-based technology and Sumerian Anchors, industry-first innovations that enhance how businesses connect with consumers. We believe Inaudible Tones technology could fundamentally change how we connect with the world around us. As we continue to develop and commercialize these innovations, we are excited about the impact they will have across industries worldwide.”

The acquired intellectual property from Web Access, LLC, includes several key assets. Among the trademarks are “Inaudible Tones” (USPTO Reg. No. 5841323), which covers technologies transmitting data through sound frequencies beyond human hearing for use in mobile devices, advertising, and secure communication systems. Additionally, Datavault AI has licensed the character mark “Cousin IT” from the Tee & Charles Addams Foundation, intended as a brand representative for the Inaudible Tones platform.

The acquisition also encompasses four granted U.S. patents and one pending application related to inaudible sound technology. These include “Inaudible Tones Used for Security and Safety” (Patent No. 10242518, issued March 26, 2019), “Inaudible Tones Tracking Chip and System for Security and Safety” (Patent No. 10497196, issued December 3, 2019), “System and Method for Inaudible Tones Tracking” (Patent No. 11195362, issued December 7, 2021), and “System and Method for Inaudible Tones Tracking System” (Patent No. 11749046, issued September 5, 2023). A pending application, “System and Method for Transmitting Inaudible Tones at a Location” (Application No. 18/453,912, filed August 22, 2023), is also part of the portfolio. These patents facilitate real-time, location-based communication and silent data transmission for mobile applications, wireless audio systems, and secure consumer experiences.

An additional insurance data patent application, “System, Method, and Apparatus of Readmissions Risk Ratio Quotient Generation,” was also acquired. This pending patent details a method for using data analytics to predict patient readmissions post-hospital discharge, aiming to improve care management and reduce healthcare system costs. Datavault AI anticipates integrating the inaudible tones technology into its existing products to enhance their capabilities and patent protection, with expectations that this technology will open avenues into new industries, including security, and align with the WiSA family of consumer electronics products.

William Talmage, CEO of Web Access, LLC, commented, “My father was a practical inventor who solved problems with common sense. Inspired by his legacy and through collaboration with Robbie, Nate, and Josh at Web Access, I’ve had the opportunity to continue inventing and innovating in that tradition. Our mission has always been to make a positive difference, first in New York and now worldwide. I’m proud to support Datavault AI as it advances the commercialization and licensing of these technologies to major global companies. Working alongside this team has been a privilege, and I look forward to their continued success.”
