CrowdStrike has announced its definitive agreement to acquire Pangea, an AI security company. This acquisition aims to extend the CrowdStrike Falcon platform by delivering what the company describes as the industry’s first complete AI Detection and Response (AIDR) solution, designed to secure data, models, agents, identities, infrastructure, and interactions from enterprise AI development through workforce usage.

Con 2025 in Las Vegas. George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike, stated, “AI is rewriting the enterprise attack surface at breakneck speed. Each prompt becomes an entry point for the adversary. With Pangea, CrowdStrike will secure the entire AI lifecycle, detecting risks, enforcing safeguards, and ensuring compliance, so our customers can confidently build, deploy, and scale AI without risk.”
CrowdStrike, known for pioneering Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), plans to apply a similar model to AI security through AIDR. This new offering seeks to unify visibility, compliance, and enforcement across the entire AI lifecycle, from enterprise AI development to workforce AI usage. The Falcon platform currently provides foundational AI security by protecting environments and models where AI operates, preventing data exfiltration from endpoints and cloud workloads, and securing AI agents across the SaaS stack.
Pangea’s technology is intended to extend this protection to the interaction layer, where AI is developed and utilized across the enterprise. Its capabilities are expected to provide the visibility and control necessary for organizations to maintain secure prompt usage and AI systems at scale.
Key capabilities anticipated from the integration of Pangea include enhanced AIDR, offering visibility and control over AI agents and workflows for detection, response, and compliance. The company also highlights Pangea’s ability to block prompt injection attacks, model jailbreak attempts, and malicious entities, citing up to 99 percent efficacy at sub-30ms latency based on internal benchmark testing.
Further features include controls to manage user interactions with chatbots and generative AI through deep visibility into AI traffic and activity, alongside governance policies to mitigate risky AI use. Pangea’s technology is also designed to secure AI throughout development and production, enabling developers to build secure AI applications and agents while providing security teams with monitoring and governance tools for enterprise-built and integrated AI. The acquisition aims to accelerate secure innovation by providing ready-to-use safeguards that facilitate the faster deployment of AI features without compromising control.
