Coincheck, Inc., a subsidiary of Coincheck Group N.V., has established a strategic partnership with Mercoin, Inc., a subsidiary of Mercari, Inc., to enable Mercari users to access Coincheck’s crypto asset trading services directly within the Mercari app, aiming to expand digital asset accessibility in Japan.
This collaboration combines Coincheck’s account and trading infrastructure with Mercari’s extensive user base. Through this integration, users of Mercari will be able to seamlessly open Coincheck accounts and trade a broader range of crypto assets.
Coincheck, Inc. operates with a mission to “Making Exchange of New Value Easier.” As of June 2025, the company manages over JPY 1 trillion in customer assets and has held the top position for domestic crypto asset trading app downloads for six consecutive years, from 2019 to 2024.
Mercoin’s Bitcoin trading service, launched in March 2023, has attracted more than 3 million users by December 2024, with approximately 90% identified as first-time cryptocurrency users. In 2024 alone, Mercoin opened approximately 1.72 million new accounts, accounting for about 58% of all new crypto asset accounts in Japan during that period. Currently, Mercoin offers Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP.
The partnership will allow Mercari users to access a broader selection of crypto assets beyond Mercoin’s current offerings, all from within the familiar Mercari interface.
