Cobi, an AI decision stack specializing in customer intelligence, has announced a $1m pre-seed funding round to expand its enterprise footprint and enhance its technology for real-time customer insights and decisioning.

The funding round was led by Lunara Partners, a multi-stage alternative investment firm with a focus on the MENA region, with additional investment from Plug and Play, Annex Investments, and Spring. The new capital is designated for expanding Cobi’s presence across the Middle East and other markets, strengthening its customer intelligence, recommendation, and decisioning technology, and increasing automation from raw customer data to executed decisions.

Cobi addresses the challenge faced by many enterprises where customer information is fragmented across disparate systems. Behavioral data, transaction records, campaign results, feedback, and journey data often reside on separate platforms, leading to incomplete customer profiles. This fragmentation frequently necessitates manual data analysis, often delaying action beyond the optimal moment.

The company’s technology continuously processes behavioral, transactional, product, and engagement data in real time. It identifies significant shifts in customer preferences, growth, disengagement, and journey progression, explaining the relevance of these shifts. Cobi then proposes suitable next steps, products, offers, or experiences, assisting teams in implementing these recommendations through their existing systems.

Cobi has established a client base that includes Mastercard, Emirates Flight Catering, Presight AI (a G42 company), and Lari Exchange, all of whom have explored Cobi’s customer intelligence tools to improve their customer experiences. Furthermore, Cobi has formed a five-year partnership with eNovate, part of eFinance Investment Group, to integrate its technology across eNovate’s digital payments ecosystem.

Darren Edmund, Co-Founder and CEO of Cobi, highlighted the complexity of customer connections. “Connecting with customers isn’t binary. The person who spends the most with you isn’t necessarily the person with the strongest loyalty or brand affinity,” Edmund stated. He noted that many data platforms and AI systems often simplify these relationships into transactions or scores, overlooking the crucial nuances essential for building genuine customer connections. “Our platform builds an evolving understanding of a company’s customers and the touchpoints shaping their experience, then gives teams direction on how to engage, serve and create value for different customer groups.”Omar Alkhawaja, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Lunara Partners, commented on the market need. “Enterprises have invested heavily in systems that collect customer data and systems that execute interactions, but the decisions connecting them remain fragmented and manual,” Alkhawaja explained. He added, “Cobi is building the intelligence layer that turns customer signals into clear, measurable action, helping companies retain the customers they have worked hard to win and convert customer understanding into commercial growth. Darren and the team have already demonstrated an ability to win complex enterprise customers, and we believe their approach to continuous customer intelligence has the potential to become an important part of how companies understand, serve, and grow with their customers.”
