CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM) has expanded its suite of digital asset investment funds with the launch of a new multi-cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) and a Solana-focused mutual fund, alongside plans to implement a staking strategy for its existing Ethereum ETF.

CI GAM recently introduced the CI Galaxy Core Multi-Crypto ETF (CCCX), which has commenced trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) under tickers CCCX (ETF C$ Hedged Series), CCCX.

B (ETF C$ Unhedged Series), and CCCX.

U (ETF US$ Series). CCCX provides exposure to several prominent cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL). The fund is managed by CI GAM with sub-advisory services provided by Galaxy Asset Management.

Complementing its existing lineup, CI GAM also launched the CI Solana Fund, offering investors exposure to SOL through a mutual fund structure. This fund achieves its objective by investing in units of the CI Galaxy Solana ETF (SOLX.

U).

An upcoming enhancement involves the implementation of a staking strategy for the CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF (ETHX) set to begin around August 27, 2025. Following unitholder approval on August 20, 2025, CI GAM intends to allocate up to 50% of ETH holdings within ETHX’s portfolio to staking. Under this arrangement, at least 75% of the net staking rewards will accrue to the ETF, with up to 25% accruing to CI GAM as a Staking Service Fee. This strategy aims to enhance the fund’s total return for unitholders, leveraging Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network where validators lock ETH to verify transactions and earn rewards.

To address currency risk, CI GAM has introduced Canadian dollar hedged series across its existing digital asset ETFs and mutual funds. These include hedged Series AH, FH, IH, and PH for CI Bitcoin Fund and CI Ethereum Fund, and ETF C$ Hedged Series for CI Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCX), CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF (ETHX), CI Galaxy Multi-Crypto Navigator ETF (CMCX), and CI Galaxy Solana ETF (SOLX) on the TSX.

Jennifer Sinopoli, Executive Vice-President and Head of Distribution for CI GAM, stated that these changes aim to simplify access to digital assets. She noted, “Our lineup allows investors to target prominent digital currencies through the convenience of a mutual fund or ETF structure with multiple purchase options. Additionally, we now provide two multi-crypto ETFs that invest in a basket of ‘blue chip’ cryptocurrencies, providing one-ticket, diversified exposure to the digital assets space.” Ms. Sinopoli also highlighted the benefits of digital assets, such as diversification, long-term growth potential, and exposure to blockchain technology. She emphasized the security of CI GAM’s institutional-grade platform and the expertise of sub-advisor Galaxy, which she described as one of the world’s largest managers of digital assets and blockchain exposures.

Steve Kurz, Global Head of Asset Management at Galaxy, affirmed the deepened partnership, stating, “CI GAM continues to be a leader in the Canadian market in delivering innovative, accessible digital asset solutions… By expanding the product suite, we’re providing convenient, diversified tools to help investors access institutional-standard products designed for long-term growth.”

The CI Galaxy Core Multi-Crypto ETF (CCCX) is designed to provide passive, fully invested exposure to selected digital assets. Its investment objective is to provide unitholders with exposure to digital assets chosen by CI GAM, weighted based on a modified market capitalization model. Currently, CCCX invests in units of CI Galaxy Bitcoin ETF (BTCX.

U), CI Galaxy Ethereum ETF (ETHX.

U), and CI Galaxy Solana ETF (SOLX.

U), with holdings rebalanced quarterly. This contrasts with the CI Galaxy Multi-Crypto Navigator ETF (CMCX), which employs a proprietary rules-based momentum-signalling strategy for dynamic allocation across Bitcoin, ETH, SOL, and cash, aiming for smoother returns.

The CI Solana Fund’s objective is to provide unitholders with exposure to SOL through an institutional-quality fund platform. Solana is the cryptocurrency powering the Solana blockchain network, recognized for its speed, efficiency, and ease of use. The network supports a broad range of applications, including payments processing, lending, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), smart contracts, Web3 platforms, decentralized finance (DeFi) models, and decentralized physical infrastructure projects.
