Charity Bank, a UK-based financial institution focused on charities and social initiatives, has selected its long-term technology partner Sandstone Technology to develop and power its upcoming mobile savings application, slated for launch in Spring 2026.

Charity Bank, headquartered in Tonbridge, provides banking services tailored for charitable organizations and social enterprises across the UK. Its offerings include a range of loan products and a suite of savings accounts designed for individuals, businesses, charities, trusts, clubs, and credit unions. Established in 2002 by the Charities Aid Foundation, the bank is entirely owned by charitable organizations, with Big Society Capital as a majority shareholder. Ed Siegel has served as the CEO since 2018.

The new mobile application is expected to feature enhanced self-service capabilities, robust security features, and a suite of modern tools, according to Sydney, Australia-based Sandstone Technology. These functionalities are designed to meet the evolving needs of Charity Bank’s customer base.

This collaboration marks an expansion of the existing relationship between Charity Bank and Sandstone Technology, which spans over a decade. Sandstone Technology currently supplies the underlying infrastructure that supports Charity Bank’s online loan application processing. The extension of this partnership will now include the integration of Sandstone’s mobile platform.

Sandstone Technology has a presence in the UK savings market, having previously provided its digital savings platform to Chetwood Bank in Wrexham and assisted Wesleyan Bank in Birmingham with updating its SME channels through front-end digital banking solutions.
