Blackhawk Network (BHN), a global branded payments company, has expanded the availability of digital gift cards for PayPal users, with its company Giftcards.com now offering consumers a 5% cashback incentive when purchasing gift cards through their PayPal wallet.

This collaboration aims to provide PayPal users with a familiar platform to acquire digital gift cards. The initiative aligns with a reported increase in digital wallet engagement, with PYMNTS Intelligence noting year-over-year growth in PayPal usage for both in-store and online transactions. The 5% cashback promotion is available now, with the offer expiring seven days after being saved in the PayPal app, subject to PayPal Rewards Terms.

Brett Narlinger, Chief Revenue Officer at BHN, commented on the development, stating that being a featured offer across PayPal validates BHN’s leadership in digital gift cards and its capacity to deliver secure, high-performing branded payment experiences. Narlinger emphasized the increasing importance of such collaborations for merchants as digital wallets evolve into discovery engines, noting BHN’s support for PayPal’s vision for future commerce.

Giftcards.com offers a selection of hundreds of digital gift cards spanning retail, restaurant, entertainment, gaming, and multi-brand categories, all accessible with PayPal as a payment method. This integration forms part of BHN’s ongoing strategy to engage consumers within their preferred digital environments and may establish a foundation for future wallet-based integrations. Blackhawk Network facilitates branded payment solutions globally through its platform, connecting over 400,000 consumer touchpoints and assisting businesses with gift card issuance and distribution, eGifts, corporate payouts, and rewards.
