Balance, a provider of AI-powered financial infrastructure for B2B commerce, has announced the beta release of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, designed to enable customer AI agents to directly interact with Balance’s payments, credit, and receivables APIs.
The MCP Server facilitates the connection between Balance’s infrastructure and Large Language Models, allowing merchants to access real-time buyer intelligence and execute actions directly through their preferred AI chat interfaces. This development aims to bring greater intelligence and autonomy to B2B transactions.
Bar Geron, CEO and Co-Founder of Balance, emphasized the role of “Agentic B2B commerce” in introducing intelligence and autonomy to transactions between businesses. He stated, “As B2B ecommerce continues expanding, incorporating the latest developments in AI is crucial to ensure that merchants and marketplaces can keep up. We’re proud to release the beta version of the Balance MCP Server today, another important step on our mission to modernize B2B commerce.”
With the Balance MCP Server, AI agents can securely retrieve and act on live data through natural language prompts. Key capabilities include providing portfolio-level visibility to identify changes in buyer behavior, offering account-level intelligence on payment history and order trends, and enabling conversational actions such as triggering onboarding, invoicing, and payment links directly from a chat interface.
These functionalities are intended to enhance the speed and precision of sales, finance, and support teams, thereby strengthening buyer relationships and maintaining efficiency as B2B ecommerce operations expand. Yoni Shuster, CTO and Co-Founder of Balance, commented, “When AI agents can handle data retrieval and operational tasks instantly, businesses sell more, suppliers get paid faster, and cash flow becomes more predictable. With the Balance MCP Server, AI agents can become a seamless extension of revenue operations and procurement teams, providing instant insight and the ability to take actions at the very moment they are needed.”
The MCP Server joins Balance’s existing suite of B2B agentic commerce solutions, which includes AI-powered underwriting and autonomous Accounts Receivable modules. Global brands such as Alibaba.com, Instacart Business, and Bay Supply utilize Balance’s platform to automate their invoice-to-cash operations.
The new MCP Server is currently available in beta for select Balance merchant customers.
