Jennifer Bailey, Apple Pay chief, is set to retire in October 2026 after more than two decades with Apple, a transition confirmed by Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue in a staff memo.
Bailey joined Apple in 2003 and managed the company’s global online stores for 11 years before becoming vice president of Apple Pay in 2014, when the digital wallet and mobile payment service launched. Under her leadership, Apple Pay has significantly transformed payment methods for millions of users, according to Cue’s memo. Her responsibilities included the development and growth of Apple Wallet, the launch of Apple Card, and oversight of Services fraud prevention, partner operations, Gift Cards, and Trust and Safety.
Analysts estimate that Apple Pay currently generates over $7.5 billion annually for the company. Prior to her tenure at Apple, Bailey held marketing and product marketing roles at Teknowledge, Skytel, and Go Corporation, and served as senior vice president for both myCFO and Netcenter.
Apple plans to announce a succession plan for her role before her departure at the end of October. Bailey will remain available in an advisory capacity to support the leadership transition.
