ABNB Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution, has announced a partnership with Upstart, an artificial intelligence (AI) lending marketplace, to broaden access to personal loans for its members. This collaboration aims to expand inclusive, digital personal lending options.
ABNB Federal Credit Union began offering loans as a partner on the Upstart Referral Network in May 2025. Through this network, individuals who qualify via Upstart.com and meet ABNB’s credit criteria are directed to an ABNB-branded experience, facilitating online membership enrollment and loan completion.
Michael McNabb, ABNB’s Chief Lending Officer, stated, “At ABNB we’re more than just rates and products, we’re here to walk alongside our members for life. Through our partnership with Upstart, we’re expanding access to inclusive, digital personal lending making it easier for more people to become part of the ABNB community and reach their personal goals.”
Michael Lock, Senior Vice President of Lending Partnerships at Upstart, commented, “We’re excited to welcome ABNB Federal Credit Union to the network of Upstart lending partners. As part of the Upstart Referral Network, ABNB is extending its personal lending offerings to reach new members online during a time of financial need.”
Upstart, founded in 2012 and based in San Mateo, California, operates as an AI lending marketplace that connects consumers with over 100 banks and credit unions. These financial institutions utilize Upstart’s AI models and cloud applications to offer credit products, with more than 90% of loans fully automated without human intervention by Upstart. The platform supports personal loans, automotive retail and refinance loans, home equity lines of credit, and small-dollar ‘relief’ loans.
