AppOmni, a leader in SaaS Security, has announced the introduction of AgentGuard, an agentic AI security solution for ServiceNow. This new feature aims to prevent prompt-injection attacks, monitor and block data loss prevention violations, and isolate malicious users from interacting with ServiceNow’s Now Assist AI agents.

AgentGuard extends AppOmni’s existing SaaS Security Platform to provide end-to-end protection for ServiceNow AI agents, encompassing discovery, proactive posture management, detection, and response capabilities. ServiceNow, a significant SaaS platform, is utilized by 85% of Fortune 500 companies, and AppOmni’s solution supports both ServiceNow-supplied and custom-built agents within this environment.

Aaron Costello, Chief of SaaS Security Research at AppOmni, stated that “AI innovation introduces new risks that demand proactive control. With AgentGuard and foundational AISPM capabilities, AppOmni gives organizations real-time protection and visibility over how AI agents operate inside their SaaS environments.”

The development of these capabilities is informed by research from AppOmni Labs, which identified how malicious actors could exploit default configurations to compromise ServiceNow Now Assist AI agents. Such exploitation could lead to sensitive data exfiltration, unauthorized record modification, and privilege escalation.

In addition to AgentGuard, AppOmni also introduced several new features designed to enhance AI agent security: AI Agent Inventory, which provides a comprehensive view of all agents to reduce over-permissioning; AI Agent Posture Policy, for automated enforcement of secure configurations and remediation guidance; Action Analysis & Alerting, to monitor agent actions for unusual behavior; and AI-Centric AppOmni Insights, which leverages AppOmni Labs research to uncover hidden risks in native and third-party Now Assist AI and LLM deployments.

Ying Ting Neoh, an Industry Analyst at Frost and Sullivan, commented on the development, noting that “The proliferation of AI agents within critical business platforms like ServiceNow introduces a complex new attack surface that organizations are just beginning to grapple with. AppOmni’s AgentGuard and comprehensive AI agent security capabilities are vital for any enterprise looking to harness ServiceNow’s AI power safely. By providing real-time threat detection and response, granular visibility, and automated posture enforcement, AppOmni empowers organizations to secure their Now Assist AI agent deployments, prevent sophisticated attacks like prompt injection, and maintain compliance without stifling innovation.”
