Qlik has introduced new functionalities within its Qlik Talend Cloud platform, designed to simplify the use of trusted data across enterprises. The updates enable data teams to publish governed data products via secure API endpoints, automate field documentation, and leverage an AI assistant for data quality rule generation.
Qlik’s new capabilities are aimed at improving efficiency for data and analytics teams. These enhancements facilitate faster data publishing through open, standards-based APIs, allowing teams to integrate governed data into various applications like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Salesforce, and internal systems.
The platform also features automated dataset field descriptions, which are intended to enhance data discoverability for business users and minimize manual documentation efforts. To bolster data quality, an AI assistant is now available to suggest and create data quality rules based on data profiles, thereby extending coverage and reducing manual input.
Collaboration on data issues is also addressed with agentic-enabled, sprint-style remediation and collaborative validation tools. This feature is designed to involve domain experts, enabling business, data, and AI teams to resolve problems more quickly and transparently.
Drew Clarke, Executive Vice President of Product & Technology at Qlik, highlighted the importance of flexibility for customers. Clarke stated, “If your best data is stuck in one tool, it becomes a bottleneck. Open, standards-based APIs let customers use the same governed data wherever work happens. AI-driven stewardship removes repetitive tasks and helps teams deliver trusted outcomes faster.”
Eva Chrona, CEO at Climber, a customer of Qlik, commented on the collaborative aspects of the updates. “Qlik has turned stewardship into a team sport,” Chrona said. “Sprint workflows and collaborative validation pulled our domain experts into the process, which raised trust and sped up fixes. The automation that documents fields and proposes quality checks is already saving time, and we are excited about where Qlik is taking AI-driven stewardship next.”
The Data Product APIs, built on open standards, are currently available. The auto-describe fields and DQ Rule Assistant functionalities are in the process of rolling out, and the Data Stewardship Early Access program is now accepting participants. Qlik provides solutions in data integration, data quality, analytics, and artificial intelligence, serving over 40,000 global customers.
