GC AI, an artificial intelligence platform designed for in-house legal teams, has announced it secured $60 million in Series B funding. The round was co-led by Scale Venture Partners and Northzone, bringing the company’s total funding to $73 million and valuing it at $555 million. Additional participants in the funding round included Sound Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, SilverCircle Partners, News Corp, The Council, and strategic investors such as Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.

More than 1,000 companies currently utilize GC AI to enhance the efficiency and intelligence of their legal operations. Notable clients include News Corp, Nextdoor, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, TIME Inc., and Zscaler. The platform provides immediate expert assistance across various in-house legal functions, encompassing contracts, policies, compliance, regulatory matters, and employment law.

Cecilia Ziniti, Co-founder and CEO of GC AI, highlighted the company’s focus, stating, “In-house teams deserve technology built for their unique reality.” She noted her experience as an in-house lawyer at Amazon and Replit, observing AI’s potential to transform legal teams into strategic business drivers. This insight, she explained, led to the creation of a tool that lawyers trust and actively use, a claim supported by the company’s 70 NPS.

While the population of in-house counsel is expanding at more than double the rate of lawyers in law firms and government roles, most legal AI companies primarily target law firms. GC AI distinguishes itself by directly addressing the legal needs of general counsels and their teams within companies. The company was founded by Ms. Ziniti, a three-time General Counsel with over 15 years of legal experience, and AI engineer and CTO Bardia Pourvakil, both former members of the Replit team, to tackle the specific challenges faced by corporate legal departments.

GC AI’s platform covers a comprehensive range of work, including commercial, employment, product, privacy, and corporate governance, integrating into existing communication, collaboration, and decision-making processes. It offers immediate value through accurate AI chat, commercial contract agents capable of redlining directly in Microsoft Word, and custom negotiation playbooks. This functionality enables legal teams to review, summarize, and advise more swiftly and with greater contextual understanding.

The company has also developed programs to facilitate adoption and change management, with over 5,000 legal professionals completing GC AI’s courses on legal AI prompting and its application in practical legal work. These educational initiatives are becoming a standard curriculum for future in-house leaders, fostering platform adoption and engagement.

GC AI has demonstrated rapid growth, increasing its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) from $1 million to over $10 million in less than a year, with an average month-over-month growth of 23% in 2025. The majority of its customers engage with the platform daily, reporting reductions in outside counsel spend, faster turnaround times, and accelerated business operations. Across its customer base, GC AI has saved an estimated 600,000 hours of legal work.

Robert Schlossman, Chief Legal Officer at Zscaler, commented on the platform’s utility: “GC AI is proving to be a valuable addition to our legal operations. As a cybersecurity company, our customers rely on us to protect their digital transformation, and we need to move quickly while maintaining the highest standards. GC AI is enabling our legal team to be more efficient, reduce our reliance on outside counsel, and deliver better legal outcomes for Zscaler’s rapidly scaling business.”

Rory O’Driscoll, Partner at Scale Venture Partners, stated, “Their AI-enabled product is designed specifically for the needs of in-house legal teams, which are very different from the needs of an attorney at a large AmLaw firm. Since announcing the product 18 months ago, GC AI has experienced massive growth, acquiring over 1000 customers.”

The Series B funding will be directed towards accelerating product development, expanding enterprise capabilities, and deepening investments in integrations, agent functionalities, and enhancing accuracy for high-precision document work. GC AI aims to establish itself as the most trusted and intelligent legal AI action layer for in-house legal teams globally. GC AI is headquartered in San Francisco with a distributed team and serves over 50 public companies and 25 unicorns among its client base.
