Cashmere, a venture investor focused on broadening access to startup investing, has made its flagship offering, The Cashmere Fund (CSHMX), available on the Alternative Investments platform of SoFi Invest. This integration allows SoFi’s 10.9 million members to invest in the fund with a minimum initial investment of $500.
The inclusion on SoFi Invest marks Cashmere’s initial distribution partnership with a national brokerage platform. Cashmere, which began as a direct-to-consumer venture capital fund in 2022, is now expanding its accessibility.
Elia Infascelli, CEO of Cashmere, stated, “Our mission has always been to bring access to the venture capital asset class to all investors regardless of accreditation status. The distribution through SoFi is a major step towards that goal. SoFi has long represented the gold standard of innovation in the financial services industry, a standard to which we aspire. Its members are as ambitious as the company itself, both in their personal lives and in their investment portfolios. We look forward to a long-term relationship with this cohort of potential investors.”
Since its inception, Cashmere has invested in over 35 companies, primarily focusing on high-growth opportunities within the consumer goods, consumer technology, financial technology, health technology, and software sectors. SoFi Invest members gaining access to the fund will receive exposure to these companies as the fund’s portfolio expands.
This distribution is anticipated to enhance Cashmere’s strategy of “Compound Influence,” which involves collaborations with prominent figures in sports and entertainment. Recent partnerships include individuals such as Josh Allen, Jenna Lyons, Damar Hamlin, LaNorris Sellers, Kevin Jennings, and Avery Johnson. These relationships aim to benefit Cashmere’s portfolio companies and its investors.
