NotifyNOW, a bereavement notification specialist and service of Phillips & Cohen Associates (PCA), has partnered with The Very Group, one of the UK and Ireland’s largest online retailers, to provide a streamlined service for grieving customers.

The collaboration enables individuals managing the administration following a loved one’s death to digitally inform companies, now including The Very Group’s digital retail brands Very and Littlewoods, of the passing.

Jacqui Sherrington, Financial Services Manager at The Very Group, commented on the initiative: “We know that the death of a loved one can be a really emotional and difficult time for families, and the administration associated with a bereavement can often cause additional stress. Our aim is that through our partnership with NotifyNOW, we’ll be able to help make things a little easier for families.”

Nick Cherry, Divisional CEO at PCA, highlighted the platform’s efficiency: “By allowing The Very Group’s customers to use NotifyNOW, they are able to inform a range of financial institutions and other companies by uploading the necessary documents and notifying all service providers with one click of the keyboard. Families who have suffered a bereavement find making multiple phone calls and having to repeat information to individual companies particularly stressful and we at PCA aim to simplify that process in every way possible.”

When a customer contacts The Very Group to report a death, they will be directed to NotifyNOW via a website link, where they can upload the deceased customer’s details. NotifyNOW is capable of informing over 2,000 organizations, including financial institutions, utility companies, service providers, and mobile phone companies, simultaneously. This process aims to eliminate the need for grieving families to make numerous separate calls and repeat sensitive information.

PCA operates as the sole licensee of the NotifyNOW platform in the UK, with The Estate Registry owning the platform. The Estate Registry was founded by professionals from the USA, Canada, and the UK to simplify estate management and asset transition processes.

The Very Group, with an annual revenue exceeding £2 billion and serving 4.3 million customers, operates digital retail brands Very and Littlewoods. The group offers over 2,000 labels across various categories and provides flexible payment options via its Very Pay platform, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
