Advisor.com, a platform designed to connect individuals with financial advice, has announced a $9 million seed funding round. The investment, led by Walkabout Ventures with participation from Jim Brown, Founder and Managing Partner of Long Ridge Private Equity Partners, will be used to accelerate customer acquisition, enhance its AI-powered technology, and expand its network of financial advisors. This capital infusion is intended to help Advisor.com serve a growing segment of investors, particularly professionals with investible assets under $500,000, who may not be adequately served by existing market offerings.

The company plans to leverage the newly secured capital to grow its marketplace. This includes expanding its customer base, advancing its artificial intelligence-driven advisor-matching technology, and broadening its network of top-tier advisors. Notable firms within Advisor.com’s network include Creative Planning, Edelman Financial Engines, Empower, Pure Financial, United Capital, and Vanguard.

Josh Diamond, General Partner at Walkabout Ventures, stated, “Advisor.com is delivering a vital solution, helping investors access trusted advice more efficiently in fast-moving markets, while enabling advisors to unlock organic growth through better-matched client connections.”

Hunter Stunzi, Founder of Advisor.com, commented on the investment, saying, “Investors want a digital solution with a distinctly human touch and this important investment gives us the fuel to accelerate our mission of connecting thoughtful investors with fiduciary financial advisors.”

Advisor.com’s marketplace employs AI-powered advisor-matching technology to pair investors with vetted fiduciary advisors based on individual investment goals and preferences. The platform rigorously evaluates advisors based on criteria such as regulatory history, assets under management, client ratios, and third-party reviews. In addition to its marketplace, Advisor.com operates Advisor Wealth Management (AWM), a rapidly growing Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) that combines AI capabilities with human advisors to address the advice gap for households.

Prior to Advisor.com, Mr. Stunzi founded SnapCap, an online lending marketplace, which was acquired by LendingTree in 2017. Advisor.com is headquartered in Charleston, S.
