DTN, a global data and technology company, has upgraded its Energy Digital Commerce platform to integrate prevailing industry price benchmarks from Argus, S&P Global Commodity Insights (Platts), and OPIS, a Dow Jones company.

The enhancement aims to provide users with more current and relevant information for their pricing strategies. Ken Evans, General Manager of Energy and Refined Fuels at DTN, stated that the integration of these benchmarks allows users to align their index-formula-related pricing more closely with industry standards. He noted that some customers have reported sales volume increases of up to 40% after adopting the platform.

Energy Digital Commerce is an online marketplace designed to streamline fuel transactions in the downstream fuels market. It connects buyers and sellers, enabling buyers to access competitive prices, purchase fuel the same day using existing credit lines, and manage volumes. For sellers, the platform offers tools to optimize margins, increase sales volumes, and improve deal accuracy.

This update builds upon existing features of the platform, which include live dynamic offers, built-in negotiation tools for buyers and sellers, contract integration capabilities, and automated price publishing directly from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems via API. Evans emphasized the importance of access to reliable, industry-recognized benchmarks in the energy trading sector. He added that by incorporating these Price Reporting Agency leaders into Energy Digital Commerce, DTN provides clients with “decision-grade data” to navigate market volatility with enhanced speed and precision.
