Island, the Enterprise Browser company, has secured a strategic investment from J.P. Morgan Private Capital’s Growth Equity Partners, participating in its previously announced Series E funding round which valued Island at nearly $5 billion.

The investment from J.P. Morgan Private Capital’s Growth Equity Partners joins the Series E round, which was led by Coatue Management. Island intends to utilize this capital to accelerate product innovation, delivering new capabilities for CIOs, CISOs, and end users.

Mike Fey, CEO and Co-founder of Island, stated that J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners’ involvement, which stems from their strategy to capitalize on emerging trends and back category creators based on J.P. Morgan’s global portfolio insights, underscores how the Enterprise Browser addresses complex, large-scale challenges across banking and other sectors. Paris Heymann, Co-Managing Partner of J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, emphasized the strategic importance of cybersecurity for large enterprises, expressing enthusiasm for supporting Island in this domain.

Island has garnered significant adoption, with over 450 enterprise customers, including six of the ten largest U.S. banks. The company positions its Enterprise Browser as a redefinition of expectations for security, productivity, and user experience within organizations.

The Island Enterprise Browser offers embedded security, visibility, and governance, facilitating data control within corporate boundaries and compliance adherence. Deployments span diverse industries such as financial services, government, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, and technology, ranging from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of users. Described as an ideal enterprise workspace and application delivery platform, the Island Enterprise Browser integrates core IT, security, and productivity functions directly into the browser. This approach provides organizations with granular ‘last-mile’ control over browser activity, enabling IT teams to log and audit work activity while maintaining personal browsing privacy. Security teams can protect sensitive data, and users benefit from productivity-enhancing features within a familiar Chromium-based interface.

Leading enterprises leverage the Island Enterprise Browser for secure access to SaaS and web applications, enabling zero-trust network access, supporting Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies, streamlining contractor onboarding, facilitating M&A transitions, and reducing reliance on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, part of J.P. Morgan Private Capital, manages a $1 billion growth equity fund focused on enterprise software, AI, cybersecurity, fintech, and consumer companies.
