Sumsub and Sumvin Partner to Bring KYC-Grade Verification to AI Agents in Commerce

Sumsub, an identity verification provider, and Sumvin, a market-leading agentic commerce platform, have announced a partnership to enable AI agents to complete purchases and manage financial accounts for KYC-verified users. The collaboration embeds Sumsub’s identity verification infrastructure directly into Sumvin’s agentic credential, allowing AI agents to act for KYC-verified individuals in real-time commerce and financial services. The integration leverages Sumsub’s AI Agent Verification, part of its Know Your Agent (KYA) framework, alongside its Reusable Identity suite, which allows users to verify once and carry that verification across multiple platforms. This initiative marks the first time that trust standards used in regulated finance can travel with the user, held within a portable, encrypted credential recognized by any merchant or financial institution. The partnership addresses a significant gap that has emerged as AI agents take on more tasks, such as executing purchases, managing subscriptions, and interacting with financial services on a user’s behalf. Previously, there was no verification standard capable of confirming an agent was acting for a real, verified human rather than operating autonomously or fraudulently. Once verified, a user’s credential becomes encrypted and portable. This enables their agent to act on their behalf under a trusted, recognizable identity wherever it operates online, with the credential vouching for both the individual and the agent acting for them. Developers worldwide will be able to access this primitive from August 2026. The companies outlined benefits across three groups. Merchants gain a route to accepting agent-initiated transactions without absorbing identity risk. Users avoid repeated onboarding at every new platform, as their agent carries their verified identity with it. Financial services providers, meanwhile, can extend the trust frameworks they already depend on into the emerging agent layer. Simon Jones, CEO of Sumvin, Inc, stated, “Agentic commerce only works when merchants and financial institutions can trust who is behind the agent. Integrating KYC-grade identity verification into the agentic credential is the missing primitive – the moment a verified human and an authorized agent become one trusted, portable identity across the internet.” Thomas Taraniuk, head of partnerships, UK & EU, Sumsub, added, “Identity verification has always been the foundation of trusted commerce, but until now it hasn’t traveled with the user across different platforms and services. By powering the verification inside Sumvin’s agentic credential with AI Agent Verification, our KYA capability that binds agent activity to a verified human, Sumsub is extending KYC-grade trust into the agent layer. It is crucial we ensure such agents are verified and bound to an accountable human.”
