Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) has announced a multi-year collaboration with Visa (NYSE: V), aiming to integrate immersive, player-first experiences across EA SPORTS franchises, including EA SPORTS FC and EA SPORTS College Football. This partnership seeks to provide in-game rewards and experiences for EA SPORTS’ global community.

The collaboration highlights the evolving connection between sports fandom and video games, as audiences increasingly participate across both physical and virtual sports. The objective is to combine EA’s interactive platforms with Visa’s global brand to enhance these connections.

David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts, stated that the partnership represents one of the company’s most expansive brand collaborations to date, designed to bring more value to fans. He noted that EA connects a global community of hundreds of millions of fans through interactive play, providing a platform to link sports, players, and culture meaningfully. Together with Visa, the focus is on creating more connected and rewarding experiences during significant sports moments.

Frank Cooper, Global Chief Marketing Officer at Visa, commented on interactive entertainment becoming a central engagement point for sports fans globally, positioning Visa at the core of this experience. He emphasized the creation of avenues for fans to engage with sports, merging digital gameplay with real-world events, and making participation more rewarding through Visa and its partners.

Key aspects of the partnership include player-first in-game experiences. Within EA SPORTS FC, players will be able to engage in limited-time challenges and live events that offer in-game rewards. For EA SPORTS College Football, players can unlock in-game name, image, likeness (NIL) sponsorship opportunities within the Road to Glory career mode, mirroring real-world athlete endorsements. Accepting these branded deals will provide boosts to in-game stats and attributes.

Rewards will also extend play and community engagement. Global players can earn in-game rewards and participate in a branded Visa Objective in EA SPORTS FC 26, which includes Squad Building Challenges and a branded Visa Live Game Mode. In EA SPORTS College Football, players can take part in Visa-themed College Ultimate Team (CUT) challenges, featuring curated objectives, lineup-building, and limited-time events, to earn in-game rewards.

The partnership also aims to commemorate major sports and cultural events, such as the Visa Infinite lounge experience at the EA SPORTS Presents Madden Bowl event during Super Bowl LX week. This initiative seeks to enhance the fan experience by blending competition, entertainment, and culture.
