Performance Improvement Partners (PIP), a technology-focused M&A advisory and IT consulting firm for middle-market private equity, has acquired AlphaAdvisors, an AI and Data advisory firm. This acquisition is intended to enhance PIP’s AI and data capabilities, expanding its capacity to deliver AI solutions and enterprise-wide data strategies focused on measurable value creation.

The acquisition aims to integrate AI across PIP’s service offerings, which include diligence capabilities, application modernization, code refactoring, security detection, and data maturity and anomaly analysis. The addition of AlphaAdvisors is set to provide specialized expertise, increased depth, and an expanded global delivery footprint to PIP’s platform.

Private equity firms are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance operational efficiency, accelerate integration, improve diligence precision, and drive EBITDA impact across the investment lifecycle. PIP’s strategy involves defining specific value, executing with urgency, and measuring outcomes. AlphaAdvisors’ integration is expected to accelerate this approach, providing greater depth and specialization across a broader client base.

Jason Gandy, CEO, and John Bisack, Founder/Owner, of Performance Improvement Partners, stated that the acquisition is about “hardwiring AI, data and intelligence into how we deliver results.” They added that integrating AlphaAdvisors aims to bridge the gap between potential and execution, enhancing client expectations. Kyle Murphy and Tom Estella, Co-Founders of AlphaAdvisors and now Managing Directors at Performance Improvement Partners, emphasized their shared philosophy that AI should yield measurable outcomes. They noted that joining PIP enables them to scale this approach with a team that prioritizes value creation and execution, aiming to elevate the standard for AI’s impact across the investment lifecycle.

The acquisition expands PIP’s AI and Data capabilities across several key areas:

AI Strategy & Roadmap: The AI & Data Practice will apply an AI-native lens to strategy development, creating use-case-specific AI roadmaps linked to defined value creation opportunities.

Data Strategy & Governance: Long-standing Data Strategy and Governance capabilities will be deepened with an AI-native approach, allowing clients to manage, secure, and activate data assets more quickly.

AI Solution Development: Specialized expertise in custom AI model development and deployment will be used to solve specific business problems and measure outcomes against initial value definitions.

Data Engineering: Existing Data Engineering work will be expanded with a dedicated practice resource and an AI-native layer, focusing on building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for advanced analytics and AI.

Automation & Analytics: Established analytics capabilities will be expanded, and AI-driven automation introduced, to provide actionable insights and operational efficiency.

AI-Enabled Software & Product Development: Software and product development capabilities will be enhanced with an AI-native approach, building custom applications with embedded AI from inception.

Expanded Delivery Capacity: AlphaAdvisors’ additional delivery center relationships will expand PIP’s offshore and nearshore capabilities, increasing speed, scale, and flexibility for clients.

These capabilities are integrated into PIP’s ValueBridge framework, supporting clients from pre-acquisition diligence through post-close implementation, hold cycle value creation, portfolio-wide scaling, and exit readiness.

For existing PIP clients, the acquisition means increased depth, specialization, global delivery capacity, and AI and Data expertise integrated into their platform. Every IT advisory, transaction support, and portfolio optimization engagement can now leverage a stronger AI and Data capability, creating a more comprehensive path from strategy to measurable value. AlphaAdvisors’ clients will continue to work with the same team, including Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and UI/UX Directors, maintaining existing engagements. These clients will also gain access to PIP’s full suite of IT advisory, M&A support, and technology services.
