Crisp, a leading collaborative commerce platform for retail data, has announced its acquisition of Cantactix, a company specializing in retail category management solutions. This strategic move aims to integrate retail data insights with shelf and floor space optimization, enabling end-to-end supply chain efficiency for consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands.

Cantactix, established over 15 years ago, focuses on simplifying and automating retail shelf and floor space management. It achieves this through a tailored approach that combines proprietary software with consulting services, helping retailers and suppliers maximize the value of retail space and streamline planogram workflows.

Are Traasdahl, founder and CEO of Crisp, stated, “Cantactix and Crisp serve many of the same CPG brands, all of whom utilize data to optimize retail shelf presence to maximize sales and minimize out-of-stocks.” He added, “Crisp assists brands in leveraging their retail data for insights into product demand, inventory, and availability. Cantactix ensures the correct mix of categories and products are positioned in the right locations within the appropriate stores. By integrating these insights within our platform, CPG brands can achieve comprehensive supply chain optimization.”

Dan Desmarais, founder and CEO of Cantactix, commented on the acquisition: “We empower category managers and space planners by addressing their primary challenges in implementing retailer-specific customizations.” He further noted, “Through this transaction, our insights and solutions, developed by our team of experts, will become accessible to over 6,000 brands globally that already use Crisp, providing them with valuable space planning and planogram data to enhance profitability.”

This acquisition follows Crisp’s previous strategic purchases, including Seattle-based Shelf Engine, UK-based SKUTrak (Atheon), ClearBox Analytics, Bentonville-based Atlas, and Minneapolis-based Lumidata and SetSight. These integrations position Crisp to offer CPG brands enhanced visibility into data and insights for optimizing supply chain operations across major retail channels. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
