Zebra Technologies and Salesforce Collaborate to Unveil Retail Cloud POS on Android at Dreamforce 2025

Zebra Technologies Corporation, a global leader in digitizing and automating workflows, has announced a strategic collaboration with Salesforce to launch their joint “Retail Cloud Point of Sale (POS) on Android” solution at Dreamforce 2025, designed to improve store operations, empower associates, and enhance customer engagement for retailers worldwide.

The new solution integrates Zebra’s Android TC5 series and EM45 series mobile computers with Salesforce’s cloud-based platform, leveraging Google’s Android operating system. This integration aims to provide frontline teams with real-time, location-based data, enabling increased efficiency and productivity in critical tasks. Retail Cloud POS is intended to address challenges such as missed sales, slow store associate training, and inaccurate inventory counts, allowing retailers to make informed decisions and adapt to evolving market demands.

This offering is anticipated to be the first of multiple solutions co-created by the two companies as Salesforce seeks to expand its mobile POS solution globally. This expansion will utilize Zebra’s expertise in devices, software, and analytics, which form the basis for intelligent operations for frontline workers. As a market leader in the enterprise-grade Android category, Zebra works with Google to ensure its devices support modern, secure, and connected workflows.

The collaboration between Zebra and Salesforce is set to help retailers achieve greater efficiency, improve collaboration, and offer personalized experiences. This initiative seeks to optimize frontline workflows and streamline retail operations by combining Zebra’s hardware portfolio with Salesforce’s software ecosystem.

A recent study, “Impact of Intelligent Operations” by Zebra in collaboration with Oxford Economics, reported that retailers experienced a 21% improvement in customer satisfaction and achieved up to 1.8 percentage-point increases in revenue and profitability growth through improvements in inventory management workflows. Zebra’s recent acquisition of Elo is also expected to broaden its portfolio and enable future innovation within this collaboration to deliver additional value to joint customers.
