XPENG, a global intelligent electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has launched a new start-and-stop charging payment functionality on its XPENG APP in Hong Kong, China. The service, which began on February 9, is supported by Antom, a merchant payment and digitization services provider under Ant International.
This new feature allows XPENG users in Hong Kong to scan a charging pile QR code or initiate and end charging directly within the XPENG APP, with payments seamlessly completed using AlipayHK. The company announced that additional payment options, including credit cards, will be integrated soon. The collaboration between XPENG and Antom establishes a global payment partnership that was formalized in the second half of 2025, marking Antom as XPENG’s first global payment partner for its charging business, and XPENG as the first Chinese new-generation EV maker to partner with Antom.
Antom’s tailored payment solution supports XPENG in integrating global credit cards and a variety of local alternative payment methods, such as e-wallets and mobile banking applications, into the XPENG APP. This integration aims to provide a seamless “Search · Locate · Charge · Pay” experience for EV owners globally. In Hong Kong, XPENG has partnered with Cornerstone Technologies and EV Power, whose networks collectively account for over 1,600 public EV chargers, with integrated Cornerstone stations already covered by the XPENG APP’s payment system.
Looking ahead, the partnership is set to expand in 2026 to include Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other international markets. Antom will facilitate the integration of regional payment methods like DANA (Indonesia), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), and TrueMoney (Thailand) into the XPENG platform. Antom’s unified solution is designed to overcome challenges faced by EV manufacturers, such as fragmented payment channels and complex system integrations, by supporting over 300 payment methods across more than 200 markets and accepting payments in over 100 currencies. It also offers real-time reconciliation and multi-currency account management.
Gary Liu, General Manager of Antom, Ant International, stated that the partnership reflects a shared belief that AI mobility, interconnected services, and frictionless user experiences are crucial for competitiveness in the evolving global EV sector. He emphasized that payment capabilities are strategic for automakers’ charging platforms to enhance user service and achieve sustainable growth. Lawrence Li, General Manager of XPENG Overseas Charging, noted that the collaboration extends beyond payments, leveraging Ant International’s global user reach to drive traffic to XPENG’s branded charging stations and foster broader cross-industry partnerships.
XPENG’s global expansion has shown significant growth, with overseas deliveries reaching 45,008 units from January to December 2025, a 96.0% year-over-year increase. By the end of December 2025, XPENG had expanded its presence to 60 countries and regions. As of January 1, 2026, its global charging network covers 31 countries and regions, connecting over 2.66 million charging piles.
