XiFin, a leader in revenue cycle management (RCM) with AI-enhanced billing solutions, has expanded its CareALERTS smart clinical messaging technology with a new pharmacy-focused offering designed to alert pharmacists to patient-specific vaccination opportunities directly within their existing workflows.

This expansion of CareALERTS aims to deliver real-time immunization alerts at the point of care, enabling pharmacists to address vaccine care gaps, engage patients more effectively, reduce adult immunization confusion, and support broader community health needs. David Pope, Chief Pharmacy Officer of XiFin, stated, “CareALERTS empowers pharmacists to educate patients, close care gaps, and drive appropriate immunizations while improving efficiency and supporting sustainable revenue growth.”

CareALERTS for Pharmacy is built with API-based interoperability, facilitating integration with pharmacy management systems, schedulers, and electronic health records. It also connects to state and jurisdictional immunization registries. The solution utilizes guidelines from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to identify patients who may be clinically eligible for vaccines, surfacing alerts in a chosen workflow location to allow pharmacists to act without disrupting operations.

Pope reiterated the strategic design, adding, “CareALERTS for Pharmacy is designed to meet pharmacists where they work. As pharmacies continue to expand their role as front-line healthcare access points, timely and actionable clinical intelligence is essential. CareALERTS empowers pharmacists to educate patients, close care gaps, and drive appropriate immunizations while improving efficiency and supporting sustainable revenue growth.”

The expansion leverages XiFin’s established and HITRUST i1-certified CareALERTS technology, which has been deployed in collaboration with select pharmacy customers via its medical billing solution, Empower Pharmacy Essentials. With these expanded capabilities, CareALERTS is now available to a wider range of pharmacies, allowing organizations to optimize and scale immunization programs and clinical services.

In 2025, CareALERTS technology contributed to a 17% increase in companion immunizations among participating pharmacies. Additional real-world results from 2025 include one pharmacy chain recording over 660,000 additional immunizations, a retail pharmacy providing an additional 232,000 immunizations to eligible but underserved patients, a grocery chain seeing an increase of over 75,000 immunizations, and a supermarket realizing an increase of 20,000 immunizations within its first week of implementing the technology.

The introduction of CareALERTS for Pharmacy coincides with National Pharmacist Day and XiFin’s recognition in the 2026 Pharmacy500, reflecting the company’s focus on empowering pharmacists in patient access and community health. Through its XiFin® Empower platform, the company supports 14 of the largest 15 U.

S. retail pharmacy chains with solutions designed to strengthen financial performance, streamline workflows, and support pharmacists across various settings.

XiFin also announced a preview of its 2026 XiFin Pharmacy Transformation Outlook report, which will be shared during a webinar titled “A Strategic Medical Billing Roadmap for 2026 and Beyond,” sponsored by Drug Store News (DSN), on February 24 at 11 AM ET.
