TeamMate+ Controls is specifically developed for internal audit and internal control teams to integrate effective controls into daily operations, align assurance with strategic priorities, and enhance performance. To inform these enhancements, Wolters Kluwer conducted a survey of 2,167 assurance professionals on June 10, 2025, during its “Navigating Assurance” webinar. The survey explored key challenges and opportunities within the controls landscape.Key product enhancements have been implemented based on insights from this research. The survey revealed that 40.6% of respondents characterized collaboration between their Internal Audit function and second-line assurance providers as limited or reactive. To address this, TeamMate+ Controls now includes Advanced Permission Settings, enabling team leaders to customize access levels and manage document sensitivity while promoting transparency. Furthermore, 40.3% of respondents indicated that executive leaders equally rely on Internal Audit and second-line functions for strategic insight into key risks. In response, Real-Time Activity Monitoring has been introduced, allowing all stakeholders to access live updates on team activities for timely interventions and efficient risk management. Lastly, 29.8% of respondents identified communication as a priority for internal audit teams. Enhanced communication tools, featuring improved messaging and notification systems, aim to increase visibility and understanding of internal audit’s role. These developments are designed to meet increasing assurance expectations by streamlining control documentation, automating testing and monitoring, and fostering business ownership.
