Western Union has launched WhatsApp Business as a new service channel for customers in Peru, enabling them to send money to over 200 countries and territories and conduct currency exchange directly from their mobile devices.
This integration allows users to utilize WhatsApp for transactions, enhancing convenience and reliability. It facilitates sending money globally and performing dollar purchases or sales, all through the popular messaging platform.
The process involves customers sending a message to the dedicated WhatsApp number (+511 5100145), specifying their desired operation, and completing a form with the required information. Qualified customers can complete transactions within minutes, maintaining direct contact with a company representative.
Rafael De la Puente, Country Director of Peru at Western Union, commented on the initiative, stating, “This proposal expands the range of solutions for our customers in Peru. We noticed that many users were already communicating with us through WhatsApp, and we wanted to go a step further, offering them the possibility of managing their operations directly from there.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to evolving with client needs and connecting people globally.
