Viamericas, a money transfer firm headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, has secured $113.6 million in a new funding round led by Old National Bank, with the proceeds earmarked for the expansion of its international remittance network. The investment round also saw support from Bank of Oklahoma Financial, Axos Bank, and US Bank. Joseph Argilagos, executive chairman and co-founder of Viamericas, indicated that future expansion strategies would be driven by strengthened long-term deals with banking partners, with this latest round drawing support from a number of US banking institutions. Viamericas’ current network extends across 95 countries worldwide, boasting over 300,000 payout locations. This extensive reach is supported by partnerships with more than 2,700 banks and 107 mobile wallets globally. Recent efforts to expand this network include strategic partnerships formed last year with Kori Global Services in the Ivory Coast, 24Xoro and Paisamex in Mexico, and Victoria Mutual Group in Jamaica. Since its inception in 1999, Viamericas has facilitated over 100 million international money transfers, primarily serving immigrant communities sending financial support to families abroad. The company has diversified its service offerings, now including domestic transfers, bill payments, cheque cashing, and mobile top-ups, accessible through both its physical agent locations and its digital platform, Vianex.
