Versa, a global provider of Universal Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, announced that its Versa Security Service Edge (SSE) platform earned a “Recommended” rating from CyberRatings.org, the organization’s highest designation, following independent testing conducted by NSS Labs. The Q2 2025 SSE comparative report issued by CyberRatings.org summarized the test results, indicating Versa achieved an overall security effectiveness of 99.98%. The company also tied for the highest false positive accuracy among the seven vendors evaluated. These independent tests assessed leading SSE vendors, including Cisco, Cloudflare, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Skyhigh Security, Zscaler, and Versa, across various security metrics such as exploit protection, evasion resistance, and false positive accuracy.Vikram Phatak, CEO of CyberRatings.org, commented on the findings, stating, “Testing helps organizations make informed decisions. Versa’s security effectiveness, false positive accuracy, and throughput performance prove it is an excellent Security Service Edge.”During the testing, Versa SSE achieved a 99.98% overall Security Effectiveness rating. This included 100% achievement for TLS/SSL Support, Malware Evasion Resistance, Exploit Block Rate, and Exploit Evasion Resistance. Furthermore, Versa recorded a 99.87% false positive accuracy, which tied for the highest result in the test. The platform also earned a 100% score in exploit protection against CVEs across all severity categories (critical, high, medium, and low), and 100% in a test targeting exploits against applications and protocols from the top 10 market vendors.Dan Maier, Chief Marketing Officer at Versa, noted, “This latest CyberRatings report summarizing the results from NSS Labs’ testing reinforces what our customers already know – Versa delivers a top-tier SSE solution with unmatched security efficacy and performance.”In addition to the security performance, data from a CyberRatings test report published in Q4 2024 revealed that Versa SSE attained a peak HTTPS throughput rate of 3,253 Mbps. This was identified as the fastest rate among all vendors tested in 2024.CyberRatings.org aims to provide transparency and expert guidance on cybersecurity risks through its research and independent product testing, which are conducted by NSS Labs. During Q2 of this year, NSS Labs evaluated the selected SSE products using the Security Service Edge Threat Protection Methodology v2.1. The evaluations assessed how the products handled TLS/SSL 1.2 and 1.3 cipher suites, their defense against 205 exploits and 6,184 malware samples, and their resistance to 1,154 evasions across 37 categories. The testing also measured each product’s false positive accuracy. CyberRatings.org’s resultant Comparative Security Map (CSM) illustrates the relative capabilities of product offerings by mapping security effectiveness against false positive accuracy, which serves as a measurable proxy for operational overhead.Versa SSE provides a comprehensive suite of security functions from a unified platform. Its integrated capabilities include Next-Generation Firewall, Secure Web Gateway, Cloud Access Security Broker, and Zero Trust Network Access, designed to protect against cyber threats and optimize performance. Versa’s cloud-native, multi-tenant VersaONE platform is one of three industry leaders recognized in Gartner’s Magic Quadrants for SASE, SSE, and SD-WAN.Versa, a privately held company funded by investors such as Sequoia Capital, Mayfield, and BlackRock, specializes in enabling organizations to create self-protecting networks.
