Nuvve Holding Corp., a global leader in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, announced that its Board of Directors has approved the initial purchase of up to $3 million in Hype tokens, signaling the company’s deepening commitment to blockchain-enabled infrastructure. This strategic investment will see DeFi Technologies manage Nuvve’s Hype treasury strategy through its newly launched DeFi Advisory business line.

Nuvve’s decision reflects its belief in the transformative potential of the Hype ecosystem. “This move is not just about crypto, it’s about where our industry is going and how Nuvve intends to lead it,” stated Gregory Poilasne, CEO of Nuvve. He added that the Hype blockchain offers real-world applications aligning with Nuvve’s roadmap and global expansion, particularly within the smart energy ecosystem.

This initiative marks a significant step in Nuvve’s blockchain-driven growth strategy. The investment is aligned with Nuvve’s broader business objectives and is supported by the company’s recently filed $300 million shelf registration. Beyond enhancing its treasury strategy, Nuvve views the integration of the Hype blockchain as a long-term driver of innovation and value creation across various applications, including energy.

Hype token, launched in 2021 by a consortium of decentralized infrastructure developers, has rapidly grown into a prominent Layer 1 blockchain ecosystem. It is designed to support scalable, energy-efficient smart contracts and power next-generation applications across diverse industries such as renewable energy, mobility, and finance.

Nuvve Holding Corp. specializes in accelerating the electrification of transportation through its proprietary V2G technology. Its platform enables electric vehicles to store and discharge energy, effectively transforming EVs into mobile energy resources that help stabilize the grid. Nuvve’s core mission is to reduce the cost of EV ownership while contributing to the transition towards a cleaner, more resilient energy infrastructure.
