Vali Cyber Secures Growth Capital to Address Surging Hypervisor Ransomware Threats

Vali Cyber, a cybersecurity firm specializing in hypervisor ransomware protection, has successfully closed an oversubscribed growth funding round led by Grotech Ventures. The investment aims to accelerate the adoption of Vali Cyber’s flagship platform, ZeroLock, amidst a global surge in ransomware campaigns specifically targeting hypervisor environments.

High-profile threat groups, such as Scattered Spider, have highlighted critical vulnerabilities in virtualization layers like VMware ESXi, leading to significant financial damages across various industries. As attackers increasingly bypass traditional security measures to strike at the foundational virtualization layer, enterprises and government agencies are actively seeking advanced solutions to protect their virtual infrastructure.

Vali Cyber’s ZeroLock is presented as the industry’s first runtime security platform engineered to safeguard VMware ESXi and Linux hypervisors against ransomware, exploits, and zero-day attacks. The platform integrates exploit prevention, virtual patching, and advanced runtime controls to ensure the continuous security of mission-critical workloads without incurring downtime.

Anthony Gadient, Co-Founder and CEO of Vali Cyber, stated, “This investment enables us to scale quickly to meet growing demand and the urgent needs of organizations that can’t afford disruption from groups like Scattered Spider. ZeroLock makes hypervisors resilient by design.” The funding will be used to expand Vali Cyber’s engineering, threat intelligence, and go-to-market teams, alongside growing partnerships with government and enterprise customers.

Steve Fredrick, General Partner at Grotech Ventures, commented on the investment, saying, “Vali Cyber is addressing a critical gap in enterprise security. With ransomware groups targeting hypervisors directly, ZeroLock is delivering an essential capability that every VMware customer needs. As an existing Vali Cyber investor, we’re seeing significant acceleration that warrants doubling down on our existing investment.”

This oversubscribed funding round reflects both the escalating market demand for specialized hypervisor ransomware protection and increasing investor interest in advanced infrastructure security solutions. Vali Cyber was founded with the mission to protect Linux systems and hypervisors at the virtualization layer, positioning itself as a leader in securing these critical virtualized environments.
