Unit21, a global provider of risk and compliance technology, has integrated Fingerprint’s device intelligence capabilities into its platform to enhance real-time fraud detection for fintech companies.

Unit21’s fraud-fighting platform now utilizes Fingerprint’s device intelligence, which collects and analyzes over 100 signals from browsers, devices, and networks. This integration helps identify potential fraud patterns, such as repeated login attempts across multiple user accounts, in real time. Unit21 aims to provide a flexible platform that allows fintechs to adapt rapidly to evolving fraud tactics without extensive coding or complex processes.

Dhiraj Bhat, Product Lead for Fraud Solutions at Unit21, commented on the development: “Combating fraud as a fintech is swift and complex. Without the right tools, the speed of crime will continue to outpace the speed of prevention. Embedding Fingerprint’s device intelligence technology into Unit21 brings real-time fraud prevention to the next level, empowering teams to prevent threats and not just review them after the fact.”

Fintechs utilizing the combined Unit21 and Fingerprint solution gain access to persistent, highly accurate device IDs and real-time Smart Signals, including Bot Detection and VPN Detection. These capabilities provide an expanded arsenal of insights to combat complex fraud types, such as credential stuffing (detecting bot activity and repeated logins from the same device), elder and emergency scams (identifying suspicious activity like new device access or IP geolocation mismatches), tech support scams (detecting virtual machines, developer tools, and abnormal device behavior), and geolocation spoofing (identifying mismatched time zones or proxy use).

Shaun Per, Vice President of Global Sales at Fingerprint, stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with Unit21 to integrate advanced device intelligence with one of the industry’s leading fraud and AML platforms. By combining Fingerprint’s industry-leading accuracy and reliability with Unit21’s powerful, flexible, and scalable platform, we can deliver real-time signals to detect and stop fraud faster to better protect customers.”

This new integration complements Unit21’s existing fraud and AML prevention solution, which features real-time fraud detection, dynamic risk modeling, scalable compliance automation, and flexible data ingestion. Unit21 specializes in proactive mitigation of risks related to money laundering, fraud, and other illicit activities, having raised close to $100 million from investors including Google and Tiger Global. Fingerprint, trusted by over 6,000 companies globally, provides highly accurate device fingerprinting technology that processes over 100 signals to generate a unique VisitorID, aiding in fraud reduction and account security. Fingerprint is SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and CCPA compliant.
