Trulioo, a global identity platform, has joined Google’s Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) initiative to facilitate the secure initiation and transaction of agent-led payments across various platforms. This collaboration further strengthens Trulioo’s existing partnership with Google, where its Global Identity Platform is utilized for Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, fraud prevention, and abuse mitigation within Google’s payments organization.

Launched by Google, the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) is an open, standardized framework designed for digital payments. It aims to connect financial institutions, fintech companies, and merchants through a unified and secure infrastructure. The protocol establishes a common language, enabling AI agents to initiate and complete transactions on behalf of users while upholding transparency, authorization, and compliance across diverse ecosystems.

Trulioo will contribute its expertise in identity verification and trust infrastructure to AP2. Specifically, it will demonstrate the application of its Digital Agent Passport (DAP) in conjunction with AP2 to convey trust for transactions initiated by agents. The DAP, combined with Trulioo’s Know Your Agent (KYA) framework, will introduce a verifiable trust layer within the existing AP2 framework. This layer will function as a neutral trust fabric, ensuring that every digital agent is authenticated, authorized, and accountable before engaging in transactions.

Vicky Bindra, CEO of Trulioo, stated, “The future of commerce belongs to agents that can think, act and transact independently, but only if they can be trusted. By joining AP2, we’re helping define the identity backbone for autonomous payments, where verified agents transact transparently, responsibly and at machine speed. This is the architecture, and the future, of trusted agentic commerce. We’re proud to be working with Google to bring verified identity to agentic payments.”

Founded in 2011, Trulioo provides infrastructure for the digital economy, assisting enterprises in global expansion, fraud combat, and compliance adherence. Its unified platform integrates Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), and Know Your Agent (KYA) capabilities. The company is relied upon by global leaders across various markets and covers 195 countries, verifying over 14,000 ID documents and 700 million business entities while checking against more than 6,000 watchlists. Trulioo’s system helps prevent fraud using hundreds of predictive risk signals, consortium data, and industry-specific machine learning models.
