True, a global executive talent platform, has formally launched its Blockchain & Crypto Practice, designed to support companies across the digital assets landscape with specialized leadership recruitment.
Tyler Reed, a Partner at True based in the firm’s New York office, will lead the new practice. Its scope includes working with foundational blockchain protocols, digital asset exchanges, DeFi platforms, and other digital asset infrastructure providers, as well as financial institutions developing crypto capabilities. Clients such as NEAR, Coinbase, and Hamsa are among those served by True in this sector.
True has been engaged with companies shaping the digital asset market since 2017, collaborating with venture-backed startups, leading protocols, and financial institutions expanding into crypto. The establishment of this practice formalizes True’s existing work, integrating expertise from fintech, financial services, and emerging technologies to assist clients in building leadership teams capable of scaling in a dynamic environment.
Tyler Reed noted the unique operational speed of crypto companies, stating, “Crypto companies operate in one of the fastest feedback loops in technology. Markets move 24/7, regulation evolves in real time, and the technology itself is constantly advancing.” He added that the founders and investors involved are constructing new financial infrastructure, which requires leaders with both technical understanding and the ability to build resilient organizations, alongside a strong sense of mission and curiosity.
Sam McGrath, Global GM at True Search, commented on the broader impact of this work, saying, “Infrastructure is being built today that will underpin the next generation of financial services.” He emphasized that formalizing the Blockchain & Crypto Practice reflects the depth of True’s engagement and its commitment to identifying leaders who recognize both the opportunities and responsibilities within this evolving space.
As regulatory frameworks become clearer and the adoption of blockchain technology increases, digital assets are integrating further into mainstream finance. This growth, evidenced by significant institutional participation, including billions in inflows to spot Bitcoin ETFs and venture capital deployed into blockchain startups, brings commercial transformation, heightened stakes, regulatory complexity, and intense competition for experienced leadership. This underscores the necessity for specialized executive talent to guide companies through this phase of expansion.
