The Travelers Companies, Inc. and Anthropic have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing Travelers’ AI-enabled engineering and analytics capabilities. This collaboration will provide nearly 10,000 engineers, data scientists, analysts, and product owners at Travelers with personalized AI assistants from Anthropic, designed to improve and accelerate software, analytics, and machine learning model development.
Mojgan Lefebvre, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology & Operations Officer at Travelers, stated that the introduction of personalized Claude and Claude Code assistants has led to significantly elevated levels of engineering excellence and meaningful improvements in productivity. She noted that this initiative delivers value by advancing the company’s strategic innovation priorities, including extending its expertise in risk, improving experiences for customers, distribution partners, and employees, and optimizing productivity and efficiency.
Each AI assistant is customized to understand an employee’s specific role, tools, and systems, leveraging Travelers’ internal data and institutional knowledge in real time. This functionality is intended to foster deeper expertise, generate faster insights, improve work quality, and increase capacity for strategic initiatives.
Kate Jensen, Head of Americas at Anthropic, commented on Travelers’ approach, observing that while many companies use AI as a tool, Travelers is integrating Claude into relevant workflows. She highlighted this method as the future of applied AI, characterized by personalization, context awareness, and integration with existing systems. Jensen concluded that Travelers is leading in defining effective enterprise AI.
Separately, Travelers provides its more than 30,000 employees with access to frontier models through TravAI, a secure, in-house agentic AI platform. TravAI integrates various generative AI tools with internal systems to enhance employee performance and productivity. The company also maintains a Responsible AI Framework, which outlines foundational principles for developing and deploying AI, advanced analytics, and modeling in alignment with its core business values and culture.
