Tradeweb Markets Inc. (Nasdaq: TW), a global operator of electronic marketplaces, has launched direct trading of U.S. Treasury bills (T-bills) for corporate treasurers. This new functionality is integrated into the ICD Portal through a direct connection to Tradeweb’s institutional trading platform.

This integration allows corporate treasurers utilizing the ICD Portal to manage T-bill investments alongside other core investment options—such as money market funds, separately managed accounts, bank deposits, and bond funds—within a single, unified solution. The introduction of T-bills marks an initial step in Tradeweb’s strategy to integrate corporate treasurer workflows across its diverse products, geographies, and liquidity pools.

Tradeweb acquired Institutional Cash Distributors (ICD) in 2024, aiming to establish a dedicated client vertical focused on corporate treasury. This acquisition was intended to provide a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for managing global corporate liquidity, trading, and investment operations. Future plans include expanding the integration to cover trade execution and straight-through processing for highly liquid products and currencies, with Tradeweb actively collaborating with corporate clients to enhance risk transfer and cash optimization.

Tory Hazard, Managing Director at ICD, stated, “Tradeweb is uniquely positioned to provide corporate treasurers with a comprehensive and efficient trading experience. The direct T-bill trading capability on ICD Portal—combined with our advanced price discovery and order execution technologies—offers corporate clients a powerful, automated workflow that enhances cash management, minimizes risk, and supports optimal liquidity. This launch reflects our commitment to leveraging our institutional platform to deliver the fixed income products in highest demand by corporate treasury teams. We plan to add more fixed income instruments to ICD Portal in the future, aligning with our clients’ evolving investment strategies.”

As of December 31, 2024, the ICD Portal facilitates over $4.5 trillion in annual trading volume, serving more than 550 corporate treasury organizations, including approximately 17% of the S&P 100. It enables these organizations, primarily high-growth and blue-chip companies, to invest in money market funds and other short-term instruments for liquidity management. With the addition of T-bills and a growing pipeline of fixed income offerings, Tradeweb continues to develop its platform as a centralized resource for corporate investors seeking enhanced control, transparency, and efficiency in short-term investments.
