Thredd and Featurespace Introduce One View for Unified Fraud Detection Across Payment Types

Share It:

London-based global payments processor Thredd has launched One View, a new fraud solution developed in collaboration with Featurespace, a Visa solution, aimed at providing a single interface and rules engine for monitoring both card and non-card payments to enhance fraud detection.

The One View solution integrates card transaction data with non-card payment types, such as account-to-account (A2A) and person-to-person (P2P) payments, into a unified interface. This integration offers a comprehensive 360-degree view of customer behavior, facilitating more effective fraud detection while simultaneously reducing operational workloads for fraud teams.

According to Thredd and Featurespace, the platform eliminates the requirement for fraud analysts to access separate systems for different payment methods. Instead, it provides a consistent workflow and logic within a single interface, which is designed to streamline investigations, minimize system toggling, and shorten resolution times, thereby improving fraud coverage with fewer demands on internal resources.

Jason Blackhurst, Global Head of Featurespace and Acceptance Risk Solutions at Visa, stated that organizations involved in payments processing can now benefit from streamlined processes that enable full utilization of payment data to boost fraud detection. He also highlighted Thredd’s expertise in integrating and optimizing the solution for clients.

Anthony Gudgeon, Head of Fraud Operations at Thredd, noted that the system allows fraud teams to identify unusual behavior patterns that might go undetected in isolated systems. It also offers self-resolving alerts that can be sent directly to customers, enabling them to approve or decline transactions themselves. This functionality is intended to reduce customer service workload and eliminate the need for 24/7 manual monitoring.

Described as an API-first, plug-and-play solution, One View is designed for rapid deployment, allowing clients to realize immediate value without requiring upfront training. It can serve as a replacement for existing legacy fraud solutions or as an augmentation layer for both cards and payments, balancing effective fraud detection with a positive customer experience by minimizing false positives and improving detection rates.

Featurespace, a Visa solution, specializes in AI-native transaction monitoring, utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze data in real-time. Its ARIC™ Risk Hub technology adapts to identify abnormal behavior, aiming to minimize errors and locate them swiftly. Since its inception at the University of Cambridge in 2008, Featurespace’s technology has protected over 500 million consumers globally across more than 100 countries, processing over 100 billion payment events annually for clients including NatWest, TSYS, Worldpay, Danske Bank, Akbank, and Edenred.
