The Institutes Knowledge Group has launched Masterclasses, a series of online courses designed to provide risk management and insurance (RMI) professionals with advanced insights and skills for evolving industry topics.
This initiative responds to a demonstrated demand for continued education among RMI professionals. A recent survey by The Institutes Enterprise Research team indicated that 78% of designation completers expressed interest in pursuing additional coursework from The Institutes to further their expertise.
Masterclasses are structured as individual, standalone online courses that can be completed in a few hours. They are intended for professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge after achieving a designation, covering areas such as leadership, cultural intelligence, applying AI innovations to insurer operations, and strengthening communication and mentoring skills.
Adam Carmichael, CPCU, President of The Institutes Knowledge Group, commented on the new offering, stating, “Earning a designation is a huge milestone, but the need to sharpen your skills never stops. Designees are looking for more opportunities to learn about cutting-edge RMI topics, to gain new leadership skills, and to quickly stay up to date in their role. These courses aim to address the anticipated generational shift within the RMI workforce. Research from The Institutes Enterprise Research team forecasts that within five years, Millennials and Gen Z will constitute 70% of the RMI field, impacting middle management roles. Developing leadership, mentoring, and communication skills through Masterclasses is intended to prepare these generations for management transitions.
Masterclasses incorporate interactive case studies, simulations, and scenario-based challenges, allowing professionals to apply new skills in realistic work situations. Upon completion, participants receive a digital badge and an email certificate to acknowledge their professional development. Active CPCU Society members receive complimentary access to these Masterclasses.
