Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SS&C Technologies, noted that hedge funds experienced strong net capital flows in March 2026. The 0.87% advance in the Capital Movement Index was notably higher than the 0.48% average observed over the preceding decade. Stone added that hedge funds tend to perform well during periods characterized by escalating global conflicts, surging oil prices, heightened inflation risks, and broader market uncertainty, offering attractive risk-adjusted returns that are uncorrelated with wider market movements.
The SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index serves as an asset-weighted, independent monthly benchmark of hedge fund performance. It provides a flash estimate of the gross aggregate performance of funds for which SS&C GlobeOp offers monthly administration services. The index, established on January 1, 2006, is designed to be transparent, consistent in data processing, and free from selection or survivorship bias. Its correlation to many popular equity market indices has historically been approximately 25% to 30%, which is lower than that of other widely recognized hedge fund performance indices.
The SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index tracks the monthly net of hedge fund subscriptions and redemptions administered by SS&C GlobeOp, expressed as a percentage of total assets under administration (AuA). For March 2026, the index reached 129.47 points, marking an increase of 0.87 points from February 2026. Over the past 12 months, the index has advanced by 4.92 points. The next publication date for this index is scheduled for April 14, 2026.
