SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. announced that its SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator for August 2025 measured 2.03%, an increase from 1.56% recorded in July.
The August 2025 figure of 2.03% was lower than the 2.59% reported for the same period a year ago, aligning with longer-term averages and seasonal patterns. Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SS&C Technologies, noted that while corporate earnings have generally been positive this quarter, weakening consumer sentiment, rising fiscal deficits, and higher tariff rates continue to contribute to market volatility. Stone highlighted that the strong risk-adjusted returns of hedge funds can assist investors in navigating economic uncertainty and volatile market conditions.
The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator is calculated by summing forward redemption notices received from investors in hedge funds administered by SS&C GlobeOp on its platform, then dividing this sum by the assets under administration (AuA) at the beginning of the month for SS&C GlobeOp fund administration clients on the platform. Forward redemptions, as a percentage of SS&C GlobeOp’s assets under administration, have shown a significant downward trend since reaching a peak of 19.27% in November 2008.
Published on the 15th business day of each month, the SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator provides a timely view of the redemption pipeline for hedge fund investors using the SS&C GlobeOp administration platform. Movements in the Indicator are designed to reflect investor confidence in their hedge fund allocations. The data is based on actual investor redemption notifications received, which are typically sent 30-90 days prior to the redemption date. It is important to note that investors may cancel redemption notices, and the rules for establishing and enforcing these notices can differ among funds.
