Share It:

ShipStation, a leading e-commerce shipping solution, has introduced four new features designed to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs for businesses. The updates, which include Automated Rate Shopping, Returns and Exchanges, Analytics, and Inventory and Warehouse Management, expand ShipStation’s capabilities beyond shipping to provide a more comprehensive fulfillment management platform.

These new functionalities are intended to support businesses as their fulfillment requirements evolve. Kelly Vincent, Chief Product Officer at Auctane, stated that the features represent a significant expansion of ShipStation’s platform, enabling customers to manage inventory, optimize shipping rates, streamline returns, and gain deeper insights into their operations.

Automated Rate Shopping addresses rising shipping costs by automatically identifying the most cost-effective and efficient delivery options. This feature considers best value, fastest delivery time, and cheapest service based on predefined customer criteria. It is currently available to all ShipStation customers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Returns and Exchanges solution aims to simplify the returns process. It includes a branded customer returns portal for self-service, an intuitive administrative interface, and comprehensive return merchandise authorization (RMA) lifecycle management. The feature also integrates exchanges to encourage product retention and includes powerful automation to minimize manual effort and reduce processing times. This solution is initially available to ShipStation customers in the U.S. and Canada.

ShipStation Analytics provides businesses with actionable intelligence from their operational data. This module, expanding existing capabilities, introduces seven new reporting dashboards that offer a comprehensive view of shipping operations, including product performance, sales trends, inventory, warehouse efficiency, and revenue versus fulfillment costs. It helps users forecast profitability, identify inefficiencies, and optimize carrier performance and delivery times. Analytics is available in ShipStation for customers in the U.S. and Canada, with future API integration and regional expansion planned.

Enhanced Inventory and Warehouse Management capabilities help businesses manage stock levels and improve accuracy. New tools include forecasting for demand alignment, purchase order functionality for reordering, and lot tracking for precise batch management. A new mobile barcode scanning integration streamlines inventory receiving and picking, aiming to increase efficiency and accelerate order fulfillment. These features build on ShipStation’s recent inventory syncing functionality, offering integrations with major selling channels, and are available to customers in the U.S. and Canada, with other regions to follow.

ShipStation, founded in 2011, provides an online shipping solution that supports tens of thousands of e-commerce businesses daily. The multi-channel and multi-carrier platform offers over 400 integrations with shopping carts, marketplaces, carriers, and fulfillment services. ShipStation is headquartered in Austin, TX, and is a member of the Auctane family of companies.
