SentinelOne to Acquire Prompt Security, Enhancing AI Runtime Cybersecurity Capabilities

Share It:

SentinelOne, a leader in AI-native cybersecurity, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Prompt Security, a company specializing in securing AI in runtime, preventing AI-related data leakage, and protecting intelligent agents. This acquisition is part of SentinelOne’s strategy to expand its AI-native Singularity™ Platform to secure the increasing use of generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI within enterprise environments.

The integration of Prompt Security’s capabilities will provide real-time visibility into how AI tools are accessed, what data is shared, and will enable automated enforcement to prevent prompt injection, sensitive data leakage, and misuse. This is designed to allow Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and IT leaders to safely adopt AI at scale without impeding innovation. Prompt Security enables organizations to gain immediate insight into all GenAI usage, control employee AI usage, eliminate shadow AI risks, and securely utilize tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, and custom Large Language Models (LLMs) while maintaining visibility, security, and control.

“AI is the most transformative force in the world today—but without security, it becomes a liability,” said Tomer Weingarten, CEO of SentinelOne. “With Prompt Security, we’re making it possible for every company to fully embrace GenAI and agentic AI without compromising safety and security. This is the foundation for secure AI adoption at scale.”

Prompt Security’s technology addresses urgent challenges in enterprise security by protecting against risks inherent in AI adoption. Its technology supports GenAI usage by integrating across browsers, desktop applications, and APIs, offering observability, enforcement, and automated protection. This approach provides real-time protection at the point of interaction, aiming to stop prompt injections, data leakage, and misuse before they escalate. This design complements SentinelOne’s endpoint platform, creating an integrated layer for GenAI.

Through Prompt Security’s capabilities, SentinelOne will offer customers:

* Real-time AI visibility into how AI is being used across the enterprise, including user activity, data sharing, and AI agent responses, which complements SentinelOne’s existing endpoint capabilities and enhances its GenAI Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
* Policy-based controls to enforce safe use, block high-risk prompts, and prevent data leakage in real time.
* AI Attack prevention against threats such as prompt injection, malicious output manipulation, and model abuse.
* Model-agnostic coverage across major LLM providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, as well as self-hosted or on-premise models.
* Managed Cloud Provider (MCP) gateway security between AI applications and over 13,000 known MCP servers, intercepting calls, prompt templates, and responses.

This acquisition strengthens SentinelOne’s position in securing the enterprise, extending its reach from endpoints, cloud, and identity to now include GenAI and agentic AI. SentinelOne has historically leveraged AI to enable security teams to detect and respond to threats at machine speed. The company was also an early adopter of agentic and GenAI within its platform to simplify and accelerate threat triage, investigation, and remediation. With Prompt Security, SentinelOne aims to empower employees by providing a secure method for using AI tools and agents in the workplace.

“As enterprise adoption of GenAI and agentic AI accelerates, the security and privacy risks are rapidly shifting from theoretical to operational,” stated Itamar Golan, CEO and co-founder of Prompt Security. “SentinelOne shares our passion for empowering teams and organizations to embrace AI as a distinct advantage, while delivering real-time, automated protection built for the AI-native world.”

The transaction involves a combination of cash and stock, and it is expected to close in SentinelOne’s third quarter of fiscal year 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. SentinelOne is headquartered in Mountain View, California.
