Ryan Integrates M&E Tax Deduction Optimization with SAP Concur Expense

Share It:

Ryan, a global tax services and software provider, has launched a new integration with Concur® Expense, enabling organizations to optimize meals and entertainment (M&E) tax deduction calculations. This solution leverages IRS-approved statistical sampling directly through the SAP Concur platform.

This integration addresses a common challenge for tax and finance teams: the identification and classification of deductible M&E expenses across extensive datasets. Ryan’s solution automates this process by applying statistical sampling in accordance with IRS Rev. Proc. 2011-42. This methodology allows companies to extrapolate findings from a small data sample to their entire M&E expenditure, aiming to increase permanent tax deductions, improve cash flow, and enhance shareholder value.

Ian Boccaccio, Principal and Income Tax Practice Leader at Ryan, stated, “Our partnership with SAP Concur represents a major step forward in simplifying tax compliance for our clients. By integrating with Concur Expense, we’re able to deliver a streamlined, nonintrusive solution that typically increases M&E deductions by an average of 30%, while reducing audit risk and improving compliance.”

Concur Expense integrates an organization’s expense data into a unified solution, offering enhanced visibility into spend through a simplified process. The M&E deduction optimization feature is now accessible via the SAP Concur App Center. Ryan, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is recognized as a firm dedicated exclusively to business taxes, serving over 77,000 clients across more than 80 countries.
