Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK), a company specializing in security and AI operations, has announced two new offerings: Rubrik Intelligent Business Recovery for Microsoft 365 and DevOps Protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub. These solutions aim to provide enterprises with intelligent, orchestrated recovery capabilities following cyberattacks or significant outages, enhancing operational resilience.
New tools from Rubrik incorporate AI and cyber resilience, addressing the challenge that enterprises often face weeks or months to restore teams and data after an outage. Anneka Gupta, Chief Product Officer at Rubrik, stated that these tools “make it easy and fast to prioritize and restore your most important assets from code repositories to Microsoft 365, that are at the core of an enterprise’s operations, so customers can keep businesses operating while full data recovery is in process.”Rubrik Intelligent Business Recovery for Microsoft 365 addresses limitations in current data recovery methods, which frequently lack crucial business context. Traditional approaches often focus simplistically on single workloads or data without understanding its business significance, leading to revenue and productivity losses. Furthermore, existing solutions often lack visibility into data distribution across Microsoft Outlook inboxes, OneDrives, SharePoint sites, and Teams chats.
The new offering provides automated, business-aware recovery, enabling the restoration of critical users and their data across applications such as Microsoft Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. By intelligently defining the recovery scope, the service aims to facilitate rapid business restoration and substantially reduce downtime.
Key features of Rubrik Intelligent Business Recovery for Microsoft 365 include the ability for administrators to identify key users, such as C-suite members and department heads, who are critical for company function. It intelligently scans protected Microsoft 365 assets, including recent emails, files, SharePoint sites, Teams chats, and OneDrive folders, to identify the most critical data for these key users. Additionally, it automates minimal viable business (MVB) recovery, restoring the essential data and users needed for critical teams to operate immediately while full data recovery continues in the background. This offering is expected to be available in the coming months.
Separately, Rubrik introduced DevOps Protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub, addressing the vulnerability of DevOps platforms. These platforms house critical intellectual property and artifacts, including source code, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AI/ML pipelines, making them prime targets for cyberattacks. High-profile breaches demonstrate that native platform security is often insufficient against modern threats, and the widespread use of AI agents can introduce new vulnerabilities and flawed code commits at a scale that surpasses typical human error.
Rubrik DevOps Protection seeks to close these critical gaps by providing a single, trusted platform to safeguard the entire software and AI development lifecycle. This ensures organizations can protect against the loss, corruption, or temporary unavailability of their intellectual property and development pipelines. Azure DevOps and GitHub customers can protect their source code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in addition to their core functions.
The DevOps Protection offering provides automated and unified protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub repositories and pipelines via a policy-driven SLA engine. It features air-gapped, immutable backups, securing DevOps data in a logically separate and natively immutable format, making it invisible and indelible to attackers. Rapid, granular recovery allows for immediate restoration from incidents ranging from ransomware attacks to flawed AI code commits, with flexible options for individual repositories. Enterprise-grade security features, including Retention Lock, Quorum Authorization, and Role-Based Access Control, fortify these backups. Rubrik DevOps Protection for Azure DevOps and GitHub is also expected to be available in the coming months.
These innovations were announced at Microsoft Ignite 2025 in San Francisco, which is scheduled for November 18-21, 2025.
