RSA Group, a cybersecurity company comprising RSA (formerly SecurID) and Outseer (formerly RSA Fraud Risk & Intelligence), has completed a refinancing transaction for its outstanding debt. This move secured $135 million in new capital from its existing lenders, extended debt maturities, de-levered its balance sheet, and enhanced its liquidity position. Participation in the transaction is open to all remaining first lien and second lien lenders.

RSA Group plans to allocate the proceeds towards continued investment in innovation, specifically focusing on AI capabilities. These advancements are aimed at strengthening fraud-resistant and phishing-resistant authentication methods, and improving customer outcomes across its passwordless, fraud management, and identity product portfolios.

Greg Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of RSA, commented on the development, stating, “Today’s announcement is an important step forward for RSA, and we appreciate the overwhelming support from our existing investors.” He added, “With new capital and a strengthened foundation, we are accelerating innovation—particularly AI-enabled capabilities that help high-assurance customers secure their identity posture through passwordless and identity governance solutions.”

John Filby, Chief Executive Officer of Outseer, also highlighted the impact on their offerings. “Outseer provides an AI-powered digital fraud prevention platform to financial institutions around the globe, and we’re excited to invest in the next phase of product innovation,” Filby said.
